Chesapeake Bay, Virginia

We were rather excited to go to Chesapeake Bay, we went as far east as we had ever been without having pontoons on the truck! The night we got there it seemed to be excessively hot for the time of year we were there, we had to idol and run the AC that night. The next morning we found out why, it was a warm front, the next morning it was pouring rain and quite a bit colder. It was really nice to finally get to see the Atlantic ocean.

In the night

As you can see I still haven't figured out how to get any pictures at night with our digital camera! I just wanted to mention that the post below this one is our current posts, where we have been and where we are headed. Now the posts above this one are places that we have been in the the last month that I didn't get put on the blog at the time we were there. But quite a few of the pictures are places we have not been before, so I wanted to show you these places.

Northern Alabama

Driving through northern Alabama, headed for Tennessee, sure looked like God used all the crayons in the box! The trees were still very beautiful, even though it was already the first week in November.

Ike damage

Driving east through Louisiana and Mississippi, it was evident that Hurricane Ike left quite a bit of damage in it's wake, I'm sure we just saw a little glimpse of what it did. If you look close at these pictures, many, many trees are just bent over, splintered and shattered and other trees had the limbs and bark stripped right off of it. This damage went on for miles through this area.

Bayou

Remember you can double click on any individual picture and it will give you a bigger one to look at. We were on I10 headed east, we were just west of Baton Rouge LA. We got to drive over part of the Bayou again, this time we didn't see any gators. It's just really cool to see places that are so different from what you are used to.

Port Laredo

In Laredo Texas just north of town is a place called, Port Laredo. There is no river, no ocean, no water any where. It is a very busy place, it is where Mexican truck drivers bring loads outta Mexico, after they've gone through customs, for American drivers to pick up and visa verse. We recently took a load of Kodak medical film to be taken to Juarez Mexico and dropped it off there. Later that day we got a load that had just come through customs and FDA inspection, it was brought to our CRE drop yard in Laredo, where we picked it up. It is actually the current load we are carrying, pixy stick, gobstoppers, fun dips, we are taking this load to Pennsylvania.

Dinosaur Art

This metal dinosaur hangs around the north end of town in Boise City, Oklahoma. We have driven by it a few times.
