Not to long after you cross the border into Louisiana from Texas there is gulf inlet towns and this one is pretty big, Lake Charles looks like a really nice place, take a look at the bridge in the other pictures, that we had to go over here.
Lived in Lake Charles forever and crossed that tall bridge twice a day for many years. That's the I-10 bridge. The other bridge you saw off in the distance is the I-210 bypass bridge. Heading east on I-10, you passed an exit, one of the last before you got to the big bridge. That would have taken you over the I-210 bridge and around south Lake Charles. The way you went was quicker if you're just passing through but most everything in Lake Charles is now south of town so the I-210 bridge is real convenient for locals.
We raised 4 boys, Bob 26, Steve 25, Andy 23, Jason 21, Bob is married to Lorly, they have 2 kids, Ken 13 and Kaylee 1 yr. Steve's girl friend named Keri, she has a 3 yr old boy named Joey, they are also expected their first child. Andy has a live in girl friend Crystal. Gary has always had a passion for driving semi's his whole life, we always talked about when the boys were grown and gone we would drive truck together cross country. Well that time has come. Gary attended school with CR England, did all his training, we were seperated 2 months before I could join him. We have been waiting for over 20 years for this, so once we realized it was time Gary quit his job as a pit boss, we went through 20+ years of stuff, got a 10x10 storage unit, a lot of stuff went to the DI, the dump and to our boys. My wonderful husband took me to Hawaii for 6 fabulous days and it was the trip of our life time! The day after we got back he had to report to school, leaving him behind was the hardest thing I think I have ever done. UPDATE, we have been out on the road now for 6 months, the newness has wore off, but this is still a great adventure and we are enjoying our time out here!
