Recently we had a load, picking up a trailer full of computers at Dell and taking them to DHL to be shipped out to their customers, even in this day and age this was a very hijackable load. There was extremely tight security going into Dell to pick them up, we were only taking them 200 miles to DHL. We had quite a few specific instructions to follow, before we picked up the load we had to fuel before going to Dell, once the computers were loaded Gary had to sign many, many documents. All with specific instructions, like once we were on the highway we could not stop for any reason, Gary had to take specific roads that Dell gave him to follow, we could not talk on our cell phones about what was in the trailer, plus here's the kicker, when we left the Dell lot there was a car following us to our destination. And the stupid part about the whole thing with the tighter security and specific instructions we had to follow, once we got to DHL, they popped the seal on the trailer, opened the doors and had us drop the trailer at the back of the building and drive away, it was completely unattended? We figured that we had done our part and it was outta our hands by then.
We raised 4 boys, Bob 26, Steve 25, Andy 23, Jason 21, Bob is married to Lorly, they have 2 kids, Ken 13 and Kaylee 1 yr. Steve's girl friend named Keri, she has a 3 yr old boy named Joey, they are also expected their first child. Andy has a live in girl friend Crystal. Gary has always had a passion for driving semi's his whole life, we always talked about when the boys were grown and gone we would drive truck together cross country. Well that time has come. Gary attended school with CR England, did all his training, we were seperated 2 months before I could join him. We have been waiting for over 20 years for this, so once we realized it was time Gary quit his job as a pit boss, we went through 20+ years of stuff, got a 10x10 storage unit, a lot of stuff went to the DI, the dump and to our boys. My wonderful husband took me to Hawaii for 6 fabulous days and it was the trip of our life time! The day after we got back he had to report to school, leaving him behind was the hardest thing I think I have ever done. UPDATE, we have been out on the road now for 6 months, the newness has wore off, but this is still a great adventure and we are enjoying our time out here!
