Is this a joke?

Very eastern Texas and south western Louisiana, there are these signs, warning you to look out for ice on bridges? You've got to be kidding me! There's no way it gets cold enough to cause icy conditions in these areas? I haven't followed the weather patterns of these areas, but come on? So if any of you have anything to add to this let me know. Cause this sounds made up to me!
